The common theme in his work is that it always makes some kind of social commentary on a current aspect of living in Los Angeles. It touches on themes of mixing cultures, media and consumerism in the city of angels. He is a first generation, US born Mexican with an eye on the interplay of life vs. survival. Music is also a heavy part of Garay's inspiration.
